A soldier from Ulster County who was killed while serving in Afghanistan is coming home Wednesday.
The body of 24-year-old Sergeant Shawn Farrell is being brought back to his hometown.
Farrell died last week when enemy forces attacked his unit. He served in the 10th Mountain Division based at Fort Drum in northern New York.
His remains are set to arrive at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, and his casket will then be escorted to Accord by his family, military and emergency personnel, and members of the Patriot Guard.
Funeral services are being held Thursday at Skate Time in Accord. He’ll be buried with full military honors at the Krumville Cemetery.
